Catherine Blackstock is Gitxsan and was born and raised in Hazelton, BC. Catherine has a diverse background and experience including cross-cultural awareness training, finance, human resources, communications and consultation advisory services. She has worked with various levels of federal, provincial and First Nation organizations for the past 20 years.
In 2009, she received the hereditary Chief name Geel which was passed down from her late uncle Walter Harris. Her increased responsibilities are to ensure that the traditional territory is protected and sustained for future generations. Catherine enjoys a challenge, continuous learning and sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience.
